TORONTO, ON – Pickleball Canada concluded its 2026 IG Wealth Management National Championship Presented by HearingLife following a successful week of competition held from August 24–30 in Toronto, Ontario.
Hosted across Pickleplex Downsview and Pickleplex Vaughan, the championship welcomed more than 850 athletes from across Canada. Over the course of the week, more than 3,000 matches were played on 21 courts, featuring competition across a broad range of skill levels, ranging from under 3.0 divisions through to the Open events for ratings of 4.5 and higher.
The championship also featured the Provincial Team Competition (PTC), held on Thursday, August 27. The competition brought together seven provincial teams representing British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland & Labrador.
Team British Columbia successfully defended its title, capturing PTC Gold for the second consecutive year. Team Ontario earned Silver, while Team Quebec secured Bronze following a strong performance throughout the competition.
The PTC provided an opportunity to showcase some of the country’s top athletes while bringing together teams from across the country in a competitive and collaborative environment. The Championship Court action was livestreamed throughout the event, allowing those unable to attend in person to follow the competition.
The success of the 2026 National Championship would not have been possible without the contributions of the many individuals and organizations involved in delivering the event.
Pickleball Canada extends its appreciation to the more than 250 volunteers who contributed their time and expertise throughout the week, as well as the team of 45 officials who supported the delivery of competition and helped ensure a consistent and professional playing environment for athletes.
