Pickleball Canada has adopted DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) as its official rating system for all sanctioned events.
1) How can I see the DUPR page in French?
Individuals can see the DUPR website by choosing their preferred language on the DUPR website. To find out more about this, please click the following link: DUPR – Preferred Language.
2) How do I get started in DUPR?
To get started in DUPR, you just need to follow these simple steps: DUPR – How it works
3) How do I, as a Tournament Director, ensure the results from my sanctioned tournament get uploaded to each individual’s DUPR account?
To ensure all scores get uploaded to each player’s DUPR account, they must ensure that their DUPR account is linked to their pickleball.com account. All players who don’t have a connected DUPR account linked to their Pickleball.com account will need to connect one. Once all accounts are connected, even if this happens after the tournament concludes, they can then go in, flip the DUPR sharing to ‘on,’ and send the results to DUPR. They cannot take this step until the player accounts are linked.
To find out how to link your DUPR account, please reach out to support@pickleball.com
4) If I am a recreational club player and do not plan to compete in tournaments, is a DUPR rating necessary
Recreational Pickleball Canada members are encouraged to set up with a free DUPR profile, even if they never plan to play in tournaments or DUPR-related events. Recreational players who do not wish to use DUPR actively can simply leave the profile unrated. There is no need to enter scores, and this does not affect day-to-day play.
5) How do I get my DUPR rating reviewed?
To find out information surrounding your DUPR rating, please head to DUPR Requests to learn more about your DUPR rating.
6) Will all Pickleball Canada members be given a DUPR account?
Under our agreement with DUPR, registration in the system will be seamless at signup for all Pickleball Canada members, including the ability to activate their DUPR account if they choose to participate in tournament play, as well as the flexibility to activate if they choose to join a ladder or league. If an individual member chooses to not activate their DUPR account they will simply show as a non-rated (NR) player.
7) Will each event be required to use DUPR even if it is an unsanctioned event held by an affiliated club?
Only Pickleball Canada sanctioned events are required to use DUPR. Club operated tournaments are not required to utilize DUPR, though it is recommended.
8) Do players have to consistently play DUPR events to maintain their rating?
Yes, players must play DUPR events consistently to maintain an accurate and reliable rating, as match recency is a key factor in the DUPR algorithm.
9) Why should we register our club as a ‘DUPR Club’?
Pickleball Canada affiliated clubs have the option to register their club as DUPR Club on the DUPR platform only for the ability to keep track of their clubs scores. Please note if you want to be a Pickleball Canada affiliated club you must still register through your respected PTSO. For more information on this please reach out to info@pickleballcanada.org
10) Will my Canadian Tournament Player Rating (CTPR) get merged to by DUPR rating?
CTPR ratings will not be uploaded or transferred into DUPR. DUPR is a separate system, and all ratings are built from the matches that are recorded in DUPR going forward. If you have concerns about your DUPR rating once you have results recorded, you can request a review directly through DUPR at this link: DUPR Ratings Requests.
*Please note that the CTPR will be permanently discontinued after our fall sanctioned tournaments in November 2025.*
