Meet Rod Hamilton from Courtenay, British Columbia. Rod was most recently elected to the Pickleball Canada Board of Directors in June, 2023.
Rod started playing pickleball in 2015 when it was first being introduced to the Comox Valley by the SnowBirds returning home from their winter vacations in the southern U.S.
He was an early Board member of the Comox Valley Pickleball Association (CVPA) and has remained active serving first as a Board member, then Vice President and currently as President. Initially incorporated with only 30 players it has now grown to over 500 members.
Rod is an active tournament player in both Canada and the U.S., is a Level II IPTPA Certified Instructor, Certified Rater and head of the CVPA Training Academy which provides more than 40 hours a week of instruction to its membership.
He was the past founder and CEO of several public and private companies, primarily in the financial services industry.
He and his wife spend half the year in British Columbia and the winter months in Palm Desert, California.
