1. What are the 2026 Pickleball Canada National Championships?
The Pickleball Canada National Championships are the premier national pickleball competition in Canada, bringing together the country’s top athletes to compete for national titles across multiple age and skill categories.
2. When and where will the event take place?
The 2026 Pickleball Canada National Championships will take place August 25–30, 2026 at Pickleplex Downsview and Pickleplex Vaughan in the Greater Toronto Area.
3. Is this event open to spectators?
Yes. Spectator entry is free.
All spectators must sign a liability waiver in order to enter the facility.

5. Who is eligible to compete?
All participants must:
- Be a resident of Canada, and
- Be a current member of Pickleball Canada
6. How is Canadian residency verified?
Participants may be required to provide one of the following documents as proof of residency:
- Valid Canadian passport or Nexus card
- Secure Certificate of Indian Status
- Permanent Resident Card
- Canadian Birth Certificate
- Canadian Citizenship Card dated before February 2012
- Canadian Citizenship Card dated after February 2012
7. How do I register?
Registration will open publicly on pickleball.com on Thursday April 23, 2026 at 9:00 pm EST
8. What is the cost to register?
The registration fee is $165, plus $45 per event entered.
9. What is my total registration cost?
Total cost is calculated as:
$165 + ($45 × number of events entered)
Examples:
- 1 event: $210
- 2 events: $255
- 3 events: $300
- 4 events: $345
10. When will registration close?
Registration will close promptly on August 3, 2026 at 10:00 pm EST.
11. Are registration fees refundable?
Prior to August 3, 2026, a refund less a $15 administration fee will be provided. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after August 3, 2026. No refunds will be granted after this date for any reason, including illness, injury, or unforeseen circumstances.
12. What divisions will be offered?
Skill based events will include Gender and Mixed Doubles, Mens’ and Women’s Singles all played at 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 18+, 35+, 50+, 65+. Also, Gender Doubles Open and Senior Open, Mixed Doubles Open and Senior Open, Men’s & Womens Singles Open and Senior Open.
Age based events played separately will include Gender and Mixed Doubles played at 3.5 and under and 4.0 and above with the age categories 18+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+
Junior competition will be run on the Provincial Team Competition day, categories to be determined.
The Provincial Teams Competition will have players selected from their Provincial governing bodies and will be played as a separate event.
Final divisions will be confirmed with registration details.
13. What is your lowest rating category?
Our lowest rating category will start at a DUPR rating of 3.0, players with a DUPR of 2.0 or higher will be eligible to compete at this level.
14. What is your Open rating category?
Our Open category is designed for our highest level of play 5.0+, with a minimum rating of 4.0 to enter but preference will be given to 5.0+ players in this category.
15. Is there a limit to the number of events I can enter?
Not including the Provincial Team Competition, you can play two (2) gender and mixed doubles events (skill and age) and one singles event for a total of five (5) events. You are limited to one event per day.
16. What rating system will be used?
The DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) system will be used for player ratings, division placement for the 2026 Pickleball Canada National Championships.
17. Do I need a DUPR account to compete?
Yes. All participants must have an active DUPR profile prior to registration
18. What format will the tournament use?
Open Skill events will be played as double elimination, all other skill and age events will be played as round robin feeding into a single elimination medal round with bronze medal match.
19. What rules will be used?
All matches will be played under the official GPF Rule Book
20. Will referees be provided?
A minimum of quarterfinals, semi-finals and medal matches will be officiated.
21. Is there a Code of Conduct?
Yes. All participants must comply with the Pickleball Canada Code of Conduct throughout the event.
22. Are official hotels available?
Yes. A list of recommended hotels, booking information and flight discount codes will be published on the event website.
23. Is parking available at the venues?
Yes. Free parking is available at both Pickleplex Downsview and Pickleplex Vaughan.
