National Pickleball Day 2025

National Pickleball Day 2025

August 9th, 2025Mill Bay, British Columbia

Let's Celebrate!

Join the South Cowichan pickleball community on August 9th to celebrate the fastest growing sport in the world. This year’s events will include two rated round robins (one for players self-rated 3.5 and lower and another for players who self-rate above 3.5), plus the traditional National Pickleball Day dink-a-thon.

Everyone is welcome to join the fun, no SCPC membership necessary!

How will the round robins work?

The event coordinator will organize all registrants in each round robin into three divisions (A, B, and C). The eight players in each division will play a round robin of seven games with a different partner for each game. The player with the most cumulative points after seven rounds will win that division.

What is a dinkathon?

When it comes to pickleball, a strong dinking game can separate the wheat from the chaff. This National Pickleball Day staple will test your nerve, control, and patience. It's played in the same round robin format as the earlier events, but participants remain at the kitchen line for the entire game.

What can I win?

In addition to unlimited fame, glory, and bragging rights, top scoring players will receive one of an excellent selection of prizes generously donated by local businesses who love pickleball (and pickleball players) as much as we do. Check out the Sponsors listed below and show them some love!

Can I make a day of it?

Absolutely! Super keen and highly energetic participants are welcome to register in one of the rated round robins plus the dinkathon.

But even if you're not playing, there will be lots of great pickleball to watch and plenty of time to visit with old friends while also meeting some new ones.

Remember our otherwise perfect facility at Kerry Park is short on both seating and shade, so bring your lawn chairs and umbrellas!

Sure, but will there be food?

Water and snacks (fruit and granola bars) will be available free of charge to participants throughout the day.

Kerry Park will provide tasty box lunches for a fee of $19. These must be ordered and paid for in advance. Click the button below to view the options and place your order.
