The past four years, especially the past two years, has witnessed an explosion of pickleball programs in Canada.
During this time, many Canadians have wintered down South and enjoyed the weather, the parties and the excitement of the sport with people who have played for up to 40 years. This experience gained, returns to Canada in April and goes back in October or so.
For many, when back in Canada, these snowbirds were looking for places to play and there were none. A good example was Alberta, where two years ago there was one program, now there are many in Calgary, Edmonton, Canmore, Medicine Hat, Red Deer and elsewhere.
